The verdict is in and the winner goes to Korakia Pensione! After almost two decades of traveling to Palm Springs I have finally narrowed it down to the most romantic private oasis in the desert. While Palm Springs competes for posh, hip luxury hotels and Airbnb’s, nothing comes quite close to the Korakia. Trust me, I have stayed at them all.
I celebrated my birthday at the Korakia earlier this year and it was the ideal sanctuary. So dreamy I enquired about monthly pricing and availability. Can I move in tomorrow?! Though my stay was only booked for two nights I extended it for two weeks. The bed and breakfast seized to amaze me daily. From the fresh OJ and delicious variety of options I was completely satisfied. My daily routine of comfortable cabana poolside reads and cozy wine and dinner next to the fire pit was always on point! They offer a variety of activities just to name a few: library, private yoga classes, meditation and movies in the garden.
The BNB is perfectly situated in downtown Palm Springs a short 20 minute drive to the high-end luxury shops on El Paseo and fine dining restaurants, but there is a list of restaurants, bars and cafe’s on Palm Canyon Drive easily accessible within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. If you prefer relaxing to going out and about, the Korakia provides a fresh bed in breakfast daily, as well as, offers lunch (poolside optional) and dinner.
Since I extended my stay I had plenty of time to take full advantage of both properties: the two properties (The Mediterranean Villa and The Moroccan Villa) are located across the street from one another. I also took one of their many beach cruisers for a ride through the neighborhood to checkout the scenery. There’s really nothing this hotel lacks. I stayed in the “Casablanca” suite which was magical. It was the cutest one bedroom apartment equivalent. It has a full kitchen complete with a stove and full size refrigerator to make yourself at home. The bed was so comfortable I found it hard to motivate, but the 90 degree temperatures in the wee hours of the morning in late May made it hard to sleep in. There is so much to see and do you can get lost within the property or enjoy R&R bedside.
I took full advantage of my vacation and enjoyed a spa day at the Korakia day spa. They offer massages poolside by request or appointments at the spa. They have a full section of services and massages available to guests.
This hotel truly is a little piece of the South of France tucked away in a hidden area in Palm Springs. Its hard for me to share my excitement for this gorgeous hotel because I selfishly want to keep it all to myself, but its just too good not to spread the love. Whether planning a girls vacay or a trip with your loved one the Korakia Pensione tops my list of fabulous Palm Springs hotels. I guarantee you the perfect private escape!
