I wasn’t born in the seventies but if I had to pick a fashion era to recreate in the 21st century I’d say it’s a tossup between the 20’s and a free-for-all 70’s. It’s only a matter of time before everything comes back around full circle so maybe the 20’s are on their way in. I didn’t plan this post because of the currently cool 70’s trend right now, but it just so happened to work out that way after a day of shopping for new spring clothes. I was in search of more fringe and blue when I found this Isabel Marant top. It was completely the opposite of what I was looking for, but edgy enough to rock with this reformation skirt. To think I once thought I would never wear contrasting color combos together and now I love them. I mean red, blue, burnt orange and tan all in one look? Sure, why not! Although my style has evolved and I’ve grown to love things I’m sure the wild children of the 70’s are being haunted by today, I’ve never been able to get enough suede, prints, and fringe. In my past life I must have been a hippie who danced with Jim Morrison naked in the desert (or so I wish!). For me, everything about the 70’s in this decade works so why not pay homage to some of the greatest talents and styles of that time. Bring on that 70’s show!
