A few months ago I noticed I was stuck in a workout rut. Over a decade of running and lifting weights and my workout routine had become redundant. I was moving through the motions of my exercises and no longer pushing myself to achieve maximum results. When I realized I had become comfortable with my one hour commitment to the gym I decided it was time for a change.
The first step was the dreadful hunt to find a new workout regime. The only two requirements I had was to find a class with a dedicated following so I was guaranteed results, but not so many students per class that I felt like I would be overlooked. The second was to find a class close to my house so I wouldn’t make excuses not to attend. I have always loved pilates but was torn if I wanted to pay for another monthly membership. It was then that my friend, Ashley, invited me to take one of her classes at WundaBar Pilates. I had seen the studio in passing several times and often wondered if I should check it out. A few sessions later and I am so glad I did.
During my first class I was not sure what to expect. 45 mins designating to high intense activity might seem challenging for the average person but I was ready to face the music. After attending classes at the studio I learned WundaBar is the real deal. In each class the instructor spends thorough time with every member so you receive the most rewarding workout. Founder and CEO Amy (Sowers) Jordan said it best, “Every single movement made at WundaBar flows from the core. We’re hyper focused on delivering intensity with integrity of movement.” Each class I have taken since has proven to be energetic providing an upbeat atmosphere for the classroom to enjoy, too. The music selection at WundaBar is perfectly tailored to each class. What I love most about the Wunda studio is that they really focus on your technique to help you grow. Since attending classes on a regular basis I feel stronger, leaner and more flexible. Wunda has helped me work on my core and understand muscle grouping. They have encouraged my transition from a beginner level to a more advanced level at my own pace. As Los Angeles celebrity trainer Amy says, “Leave your expectations at the door and you will sculpt muscles you didn’t even know you had.”
It really helps that Amy’s Wundaformer is the best reformer that I have used. This machine combines the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Ballet Bar and Jump Board all into one incredible, patented machine. After dominating Southern California and adored by celebrities including Susan Sarandon, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Tia Mowry, Marla Maples, Tinashe & Austin Butler its safe to suggest they really know what they are doing at WundaBar.
I have personally found WundaBar isn’t like any other pilates studio out there, it’s better! They inspire you to achieve your body goals and challenge you in a way that leaves you craving another session. After a few months of taking Ashley’s class I am hooked and committed to going weekly. The best part is I spend most of my time between LA and NYC and WundaBar has expanded to the East Coast. Now I can enjoy the best of both worlds during my next session.
